LEADERSHIP: A KEY TO ACHIEVING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
(talk on leadership shared with secondary school students in Ekiti State)

WHO IS A LEADER?
President, Governor, our Principal, our Teachers and sometimes our school prefects and seniors.
A leader is most times defined as a person who leads/controls or gives orders to a set of people to achieve a goal.
But being a leader is not about a title or position. As you are, you are a born leader
If the President, Governor, Principals, Teachers were once like you (young & youthful) then you are also a potential President/Governor/Principal.
The leadership potential lies inside you. You must take the decision to activate your potentials to lead every area of your life.
You are called the leaders of tomorrow; please don’t wait till tomorrow before you
·        Start leading your class
If you desire to be next medical doctor, best engineer, the successful lawyer, that excellent teacher you must begin by becoming the best in your class.
   
  So for me a great leader is someone who is responsible to create a desired change/goal.

You can motivate yourself to success because each of us is endowed with innate resources to enable us achieve all we ever dream of and more.

Medical science proves that everybody is born with the same number of brain cells regardless of race, gender or family background.

No one has the right to be better than you until you give him or her the right to be. You have all the brain cells that you need to excel.
As from today, I challenge you that you can also be the 1st position in your class, failure is not your possession.

To lead your class and be the best student overall high flying, you must do and obey the following laws to start with. 
1. Laws of Decision:- make up your mind to be nothing less than a High Flying Student
Life never gives you what you deserve but what you desire
Every day you will have the option of choosing RIGHT or wrong to be GREAT or Average, to EXCEL or to fail.
·           
    2. Law of Foresight:- what you see is what you get. You must see yourself as the best student in your class, see yourself receiving many prizes including overall best student on the prize-giving day.
Your hands can only hit it if your eyes can hit it. What you see is what you get.
·          
    3. Law of Sacrifice:- pay the price of Attentiveness, Dedication and Hard work for the prize of success.
High flying student sacrifice more of their playing time to read, while ordinary student sacrifice more of their reading time to play. Which do you want to be? High flying or ordinary? Your sacrifice will tell you which one you are.

If you cannot lead yourself, you cannot lead others.
 
    Leaders don’t wait to be taught.
·        Leaders read ahead of others.
·        Leaders learn from everything.

 You are born a leader, but you have the ability to become a great leader.

The "New" New Testament Church Who would have believed that the world with all its technological advancement and human capacity would run to hide behind closed doors to preserve humanity from the novel Corona Virus disease - Covid-19, which broke out in November, 2019?  Covid-19, a disease which has no respect for persons, race, age, social status, or religious beliefs, forced governments to close all borders with no entry or exit except for essential needs.  Since the world took cover by staying safe at home, no one could go to Church, not even the Pastors.
